EAGLE LAKE UPDATE

On Sunday, July 28th, 35 members of our core group gathered at the home of one of our members in Eagle Lake for their first fellowship event together. At the gathering, our steering committee was able to share many details about the new mission with those in attendance and encourage them to sign up to volunteer in various ways at the new campus.

Most of the necessary items for worship have now been acquired or purchased. Our opening service at this campus is scheduled for Sunday, September 8th at 9am at City Hall in Eagle Lake (705 Parkway Ave). Anticipating that there will be a big crowd, we are planning to have the service on the back lawn of city hall. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. A time of fellowship will follow with refreshments and an opportunity to tour the facility.

We are planning to offer a service in the council chambers every Sunday at 9am. This service will be a duplicate of the service held the previous week at our North Mankato campus (same sermon and hymns). We will offer Bible Study and Sunday School at 10:15am. Bible Study will be held in the council chambers, Sunday School for grades K to 4 will be in the kitchen, and Sunday School for grades 5 to 8 will be at the end of the long hallway.

GROW IN THE WORD

“Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105) Our church is about much more than an opportunity to worship each week. Compelled by Christ’s love, we serve the Lord by sharing the Gospel, gathering the lost, and strengthening believers. God’s Word gives us sufficient light for each step. To equip the members of our congregation to be faithful servants in our church family, in our homes, in our community, and throughout the world, we offer numerous opportunities for people of all ages to grow in God’s Word through Bible study.

GLORIFY GOD

When pondering God’s love for us and our opportunity to praise and thank him for that love, we recall the words of the Psalm writer: “I rejoice with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.’” (Psalm 122:1) As we gather each week, we take joy in worshiping God together through Scripture readings, hymns, responsive readings, offerings and prayer.

GIVE LOVE & SERVICE

Having a place in heaven means having a mission on earth. That’s what God means when he says, “We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10). Our hope is that through our actions, people can see our faith and, God-willing, come to know Jesus. We have numerous ministry opportunities for small groups to gather – some for personal interaction and encouragement and some for specific acts of service.
